It is a modern solution, which saves on the cost of residues due to:
lower storage and handling costs - 1 tone of pellets is equivalent to 6.5 big round bales of 1.20m; one big-bag weights up to 1,2t;
the pellets bedding is rarely changed compared to straw and can reach up to 10 times of normal straw change;
highly moisture absorption content (up to 300% compared to its own weight and increase the volume up to ~ 600%). A tone of pellets absorbs 3 tones of manure, 50% higher than the absorbency of wood pellets;
pellet bedding soaked with manure does not freeze;
have a fundamental role in preventing mold and ammonia that irritates the breathing of animals;
can be used for pigs, horses, cows, chicken, turkeys, goats, cats, dogs, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, parrots, snakes, etc.
pets and animals stays clean and when getting out, the bedding does not spread;
pellets are sterile, they are being compressed at over 90 degrees Celsius, destroying microbes and microorganisms and keeping a clean and healthy environment for animals; this is very important in poultry that are sensitive in this respect;
reduces pigs aggression by being chewed;
after using pellets as an animal bedding, the obtained debris can be scattered directly in the field, there is no need to wait for fermentation to occur as in classic dung.
THE PRODUCT IS BACTERIA FREE
In Western Europe, America and Canada breeder farms the pellet bedding is used more often than the straw bedding, because they are a cheaper solution on long term, more hygienic and faster, with very good results. As an example, at a pig farm where the straw should be changed every 2 days, by using pellets they will replace the bedding in approximately 2 weeks. Besides reducing storage volume and workload with changing the bedding, they also reduce the total cost. The difference between pellets used for heating and pellets used for animal bedding is given by the density of the material. When ordering please specify the use of the pellets.
